I hope you all are having an awesome week...I can not believe it will be May tomorrow! Craziness!!
Well, I just wanted to post a prayer request for my friends Lauren and Emily and Darin (Lauren's Hubby.) Lauren and Emily's mom had cancer and went to be with the Lord a few years ago. And this week their dad, Jim, found out he has prostate cancer. Also, Darin's mom is going through some test later this week in that she may have lung cancer. So I ask that you pray for wisdom as they are planning treatments, strength through this all, and peace about what the Lord's path is for them all and wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for them. I was totally shocked to hear this! They are such an awesome family and have been part of our family's lives forever! But thankfully our God will not give us more than we can handle! So please pray for this whole family as they continue to go to the doctors appointments and the road that lays ahead of them.

What a Week!
Sorry, I am not quite frequent at the ol blog here...
But it has been a wonderful week, busy one, but awesome one too! I have officially completed my first week of nursing school! YEAH! Now I just have to get a good routine down of studying. I do not have too much to study yet, but I know the time is coming, so I am savoring these last few weeks of "freedom!"
I ended my week yesterday with the Women's Event with our church. And it was AMAZING!! It is sooo awesome to come together with the ladies of our church and hang out and spend time with the Lord. I had the privilege to help plan this event which was wonderful in itself and so rewarding. I thank God for bringing us to VA and showing us this church. We both are growing so much in Lord and serving Him has been so rewarding.
Jason was given the day off on Friday, so he used it to go fishing and get sunburned. We have had some beautiful weather, up until today, and being out on the water there is no where to get under the shade. So he got a little red out there. He went out again yesterday, while I was at the Women's Event, but lathered up good with the ol SPF 50. Unfortunately, he said he did not catch anything on Friday, but caught a few little guys yesterday!
I pray you all have a wonderful week!
Until the next post....

EXCELLENT
The tally is in and Jason and the team received an EXCELLENT rating. Praise God for the score!! Now he will be back to "normal" hours! I know that they are all relieved and glad that the exercising and the actual inspection is over....they have been preparing for this inspection since we first arrived here back in mid-August. Amidst the rain we started getting, Jason has been able to get in some long awaited time of fishing....we will hopefully get another digital camera soon in that he can take with him on his fishing excursions. So we may have some fishing pics up on the ol blog sometime in the near future.
Today was the big day for me as well in that I started nursing school. It was a short day because I am exempt from anatomy and they had that class this afternoon. But I will be in school all day tomorrow...so let the fun begin!
I pray you all had a wonderful weekend and your week is off to a fab start!

GOD IS GOOD!!
What a wonderful ending to our week!!
J finished up the inspection on Thursday morning, but is still waiting on the results from the inspection. The big wigs are suppose to be meeting today to get all the reports back. So he was able to go fishing last night, but I have not heard the fishing report yet...he did not get in til 130am and we all know I was passed out by then!!
Then Thursday night after we got home, I checked the mail and received a letter stating that I was chosen for one of the scholarships I had applied for...The Langley Spouses Association. I will go on May 28 and receive the scholarship at their awards ceremony/banquet. It is for $1,000. Jason received an e-mail about this scholarship about a week before it was due, so I sent in the application not expecting anything. I have also applied for 4 different scholarships in which this was the first one to close out and I was awarded the money. The other 3 scholarships will be closing out over the next 3 months. So we will see. I was totally shocked to have gotten this because they made the decision on 9 April and I thought they were going to e-mail the results out but ended up using snail mail. OH well...Praise God for the HUGE blessing. And the pic of my face here is the "headshot" they requested for the program at the awards ceremony and they will also use it in the base newspapers and local papers.
And to end my last day as a full time employee yesterday, they threw me a surprise ice cream party. It was totally unexpected because I have only been at my job 5 months as a full time employee and now I will be a labor pool employee with them (basically meaning, I make my own schedule and come and go as I please!) It has been wonderful to work for such a great employer because they have taken care of me and are still taking care of me. The pic is of what they gave (not 1 but 2 dozen of beautiful roses, $40 gift card to Walmart, $20, and nursing school supplies (drug book, pen light, and scissors!!) I was soooo surprised by it all and so thankful to them! I definitely did not expect any of it! But thankfully I will still get to see them all almost daily, as I work labor pool with them.
Thank you Lord for the many blessings you have given us and Thank you for the relationships you have put in my path and may those seeds blossom into what You would have for their lives!!

Pray
Well, J is back out in the field this week and we are praying it is the last one until the next inspection. But just wanted to send out a prayer request that the inspection goes well this week and they get an EXCELLENT score! Pray that the soldiers are safe out there and that they may have strength and endurance to get through this last week....it has been some long months for them all.
And as always, continue to pray for the other troops of our country and their families!
More to come later on this week...

The Countdown
The countdown is finally coming to an end quickly....I only have 2 weeks left until I start school. I had orientation this past Thursday and reality is finally sinking in. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel again, even though graduation is less than 11 months away (yes I am already counting down until then!) And the anxiousness and nerves have already set in. I am anxious to get it started yet nervous to get back in the routine of school again, nursing school at that! We have a big class of 35 students that we will all become a family for the next 11 months. One of the instructors had said during orientation "look around the room at your classmates, these are the people you will be with most of your time during these next 11 months and these are the people who will truly understand what you are going through!" Although I did understand what she meant by that, yet, I wanted to shout out....I will have the Lord by my side through this all. Through the studying, through all the tests, through all of clinicals and with me as I see each of my patients and treat them. It is definitely going to be a rough, yet rewarding 11 months ahead and I am looking forward to it all and excited to see what other doors the Lord is going to open up!!
