More Fishies

J went fishing yesterday with a buddy from church and they hit the jackpot. I think this is the best fishing he has had yet. He said between the both of them they probably caught 16-17 fish. They only brought home 6 fish. So they definitely had a good day out on the water. Jason cleaned and gutted and all that yucky stuff to his 3 and will cook them up sometime soon.

Another First...

Here is our first glimpse of Baby Wells...in case you can not see
anything in the actual picture....if you look at the black circle near
the top and the baby is in there. Looking at the picture, the left is
the head and you will see a little arm sticking out and the babies tail
on the other end and see its big belly. The baby is facing downward. (Hopefully that helps some to see a few details!)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Today is our 8 year wedding anniversary! WOW...where has the time gone! It has been a blast getting to hang out with my best friend everyday and making lots of memories together over these last 8 years. Jason, thanks for being the husband that the Lord has called you to be! I definitely do not deserve such a wonderful hubby as you and I am truly thankful to you and the life that we share together. And now as we move on to the next chapter...parenthood!! :) Love ya Homie!!

The first of many firsts!

We had our first OB appointment this past week with nothing too exciting going on at this appointment....introduction, bloodwork, paperwork and such. We go again June 24th for the full physical and ultrasound, so hopefully we will get a pic of this itty bitty blessing - that is unless I do one at work before then! The perks of working in a family practice!! :)
This weekend my parents came up for a quick 24 hour visit and we had a great time hanging out with them celebrating them becoming grandparents and an early celebration of our 8 year anniversary which is this week! It is always wonderful to have them here for any length of time but oh so sad to see them leave!
They did bring the little one their first Harley Davidson present, as you can see in the pic! The other pic is of a few things our dear friends Mike, Jamilia and Caden sent us last weekend! It still has not hit us yet but I am sure the reality of it all will hit soon when we hear the heartbeat!!

Please Pray

Lauren and Darin lost their precious little girls, Katelyn Anne and Haley Marlane, yesterday. As Emily, Lauren's sister, put it "...were born early this afternoon and immediately left for their heavenly home. They came into this world too early at just over 19 weeks gestation and not ready to make it on their own. The girls fought a good battle against Twin to twin syndrome and could not have had a stronger Mother and Father than they have. Both girls were born in the presence of their Earthly father and into the arms of their Heavenly father."
I am at a total loss of words right now, but wanted to send something out to our family and friends to pray for strength, comfort, peace, and understanding during this time and the days ahead of them.
Thanks so much for all of your prayers!

Hintz Famly Update!

Here is the latest update Lauren sent out this weekend....please continue to pray for them. Sorry to be cheesy and cut and paste her e-mail, but it is easier to do that because she explains it a bit better than I could.
"The surgery on Friday went very well. Now, doctors will monitor the babies via ultrasounds and an ECHO cardiogram. The ultrasound on Saturday morning revealed that both babies were moving, so much so that the doctor thought one was the other. The main difference is the bladders: The recipient baby still has a large bladder and the donor a small one. With the surgery and 2 - 600 microns holes in the amniotic membrane, fluid can flow freely between the two babies (each gets an equal amount of space). They cauterized 16 blood vessels that were connecting the babies so now each baby has 50% of the placenta to call their own. They also removed 2 liters of amniotic fluid from the recipient baby......which translated to a much smaller belly for me and around 7 lbs lighter.
The recepient still has some variation in diastolic pressure in its umbilical cord, but as things equilibrate bewtween the twins, the doctors believe that this may return to normal over time.
I got released from Children's Hospital around noon yesterday. We came home to put our stuff away, rest and head to Good Samaritan Hospital for a 3pm appointment to drop off samples for the lab - testing to see if I have preclampsia (sp?) and to get blood drawn.
Every nurse and doctor we have seen since last Tuesday has been amazing, so kind and helpful. It has made this whole process so much better.
They were not able to schedule me for Monday. So, I will have an ultrasound on Tuesday morning at Good Sam followed by an ECHO cardiogram and consultation at Children's on Tuesday. If those are good, then I will have weekly ultrasounds.
As I am sure of you are wondering, our spirits are high and we believe that God is wish us and that all will be okay. There is still a long road ahead, so we definitely welcome your prayers.
Today, I am trying to enjoy the first day of bedrest without work, doctor's visits or being in the hospital."

Thank you all for your prayers!!
