The Simple Things

Here is Kerrick in his all time favorite shirt...the Red Mickey Mouse Shirt!  He ask to where this several times a week.  Because he loves this shirt so much, I went and found him 3 other Mickey Mouse shirts (all different colors and graphics of Mickey!)  But nothing beats the Red Mickey Mouse Shirt and he does not ask to where these as much.  He goes to sleep talking about it and wakes up and literally the first thing out of his mouth is Red Mickey Mouse Shirt.  The days he gets to where his Red Mickey Mouse Shirt, he is the happiest camper and no complaints all day.

But with him making such a big deal over this simple shirt/thing, I can only think to myself why can't simple things make us happy as just this one little thing just makes his day!!  Why does it have to be some elaborate big ordeal of something to make us happy!!  We can learn so much from these lil dudes!!

Of course this a fabulous picture with my phone...not the best quality!

Caelum is 18 months!!

Caelum turned 18months a few weeks ago but we Jason took him in yesterday for his 18month well child appointment.  Unfortunately it was a lot longer of an appointment than anticipated.  Poor lil dude can not catch a break.  The doctor heard something on his right lung when listening to him so she sent him to get an xray.  We were totally shocked as he has been on the uphill for this past week and thought he was getting better from all the fevers and ear drainage.  He also had to make an unexpected trip back to ENT due to his ears still draining (it has been draining for almost 2 weeks and he has had fever on/off.)  So the xray came back as developing pneumonia or atelectasis.  She is leaning toward atelectasis (phlegm in the lungs going back and forth.)  We are  hoping it is just the atelectasis as he is running out of antibiotic options as he has had to be on antibiotics most of his life with his kidney issues.  So we just have to monitor him.  As for his ears, they had to suction out all the drainage and started some new drops.  If they are not cleared by Monday they will start him on an oral antibiotic. He also had to get his well child shots as well, so he was tuckered out and done after his 3.5 tour of the hospital.  Jason took him home in which he took over a 3 hour nap.  He is doing great and we were just surprised with everything that had taken place as again we thought he was getting better!!
Also, a side note...Jason took Caelum for his post op 3 month checkup for his kidney surgery and all is progressing well.  He is still favoring his left side and seems to bother him if you touch him in certain ways, but his kidney is doing well and we go back again in 3 months for the next follow-up!!
Anyhoooo.....here are his stats!!

Weight: 21.4 pounds  (3%)
Length:  30.55 inches  (7%)
Head Circumference:  48.5cm (68%)

Definitely a lean machine compared to Big Dude, Kerrick!!

Sorry no pic with this post....I will put up a few from Memorial Day later this weekend!!

Krista Dedication

This past Sunday, Mother's Day, our niece, Krista Joy was dedicated at church.  We were able to celebrate with Brad and Kelly and the dedication of Krista and then we all were able to go out and celebrate Mother's day with Jason's family.  It was a wonderful service and fellowship with the family.

Random Post

Here are a few pictures and a video from this past week.

This picture was from yesterday.  One of the teachers was painting their faces at school.

This is from last weekend with Kerrick wearing his boots for the first time.  He LOVED them.  A friend of mine gave them to Kerrick which was her little brothers.
Back at the ol stomping grounds....the playground on base.

And another one of Kerrick putting his boots on.

All is going well with everyone.  The boys have allergies/colds right now, but who doesn't in Texas right now.  Caelum however, was sent home with a fever on Thursday, so he got to stay home and hang out with Jason yesterday.  But otherwise everyone is doing well.

Jason's Graduation

For the past 6 weeks Jason has been attending the NCOAcademy (Non-Commissioned Officer Accademy.)  Once you make TSgt ranking you have to go to this academy.  It is a professional development course that all E-6 must take.  Jason went to class Monday - Friday and once he was home is was hours more of homework every night.  So we did not see him too much as he was busy with all of the school.  This past Wednesday he graduated from the Academy in which I know was a relief to be done with that.  But unfortuantely he went straight back to work the next day!  But at least he can come home and leave work at work and not have homework to worry with.  Jason's parents were able to come down to celebrate in his graduation as well.  Unfortunately, I did not take many pictures.  The few I have are from the final retreat at the end of the graduation.
