Long Nite
This is a picture Caelum from last night at about 1100 in his new dubs....hospital gown! Yep we had to make an ER visit last night with him. It all seemed to start some on Sunday night when he was not himself at bedtime and making a cry that was not his usual whine or cry - like he hurt or something. We just blew it off as it from being a long day as we went to visit Jason's family for the day as his Aunt Candy was in town from California! Jason and I are in a class this week and next for our work (2 different classes) so I got out at noon on Monday and was able to run some errands and got some groceries, so as soon as I unloaded the car of groceries the boys school calls and says Caelum has been crying for 3 hours and not been himself with an unusual cry too all day. No fevers or anything. So I go get them both and called one the doctors I work for to see if they can check his ears. So the boys and I head back to base to meet up with Jason and get my doc to peek in his ears. All was clear and nothing (as a side note Caelum of course was laughing and being his usual self the whole way there!) So no biggie....we left and carried on with the evening and Caelum was a little fussy but nothing way out of the norm for him. We got up yesterday morning all was well, we all went to school. I was in the deployment office giving immunizations and get a call from the school letting me know his temperature was 100.8. That is not considered a fever and is usually not a concern but with Caelum's kidneys we have to take him in to make sure no UTI is brewing if his temperature gets over 100.4. So I left, picked him up and he was still at 100.8. He was in a good mood all day, just his temperature was up a little bit. So I just gave Ibprofen and waited to see but usually we take him straight in but did not this time.. We carried on with the evening as usual, then when I went to get Caelum out of his swing (he was fighting sleep, so I just put him in his swing) he was burning up. Checked his temp and it was a 102.4, a true fever, so off to the ER I head as Jason stayed behind with Kerrick so they could at least get some sleep. After 2 attempts of an IV site (but at least a successful blood draw) and being cathed 2 times, he was diagnosed with just a virus. Thankful it was not a UTI, as I was pretty sure it was not, but still have to go. So he has been fever free today but a fussy little guy...rightfully so after all he went through last night! Hopefully he will rest well tonight as I am running on 3 hours of sleep....the joys of parenthood!!

2.5 Years Old
Kerrick will be 2.5 years old this week!! And Again I say, where has the time gone! This little guy amazes us everyday with everything he learns. Kids truly are sponges when they are younger as he does not miss a thing and hears you even if you think he does not....as later on he will repeat something you said! He loves school and is learning a lot going there. The teachers seem to adore him (well so they say!) We are trying to work very hard at his manners in which one of teachers this week told me out of the blue how much he uses his good manners. We always wonder if he does it when we are not around nagging him about it. He still has not got the sir vs. ma'am thing down, but we know it will come with time! But for the most part Kerrick is a happy go lucky little guy who still loves to dance!!
Kerrick and Caelum get along sometimes although Kerrick gets a bit rough with him. Or most of the time if Kerrick comes near Caelum, he starts screaming! That is ok, I have a feeling Caelum will pay Kerrick back when he gets mobile!
8 months old
Today Caelum is 8 months old...and just like the other 7 months I have said, where has the time gone?! He is growing up way too fast!! Besides "growing like a weed," he is learning new things weekly if not daily!! This weekend he has been trying to perfect getting up on all fours! He has been moving around the room by either scooting backwards or just turning in circles on his belly. But the past few mornings I go in his room to get him out of bed and he is up on all fours and will do so when we are playing on the floor. He loves to stand up and jump with you holding him in your lap or let him stand in front of you. He is truly loved by his teachers at school...not only his teachers but all of the teachers love him and come and "steal" him and take him around to visit everyone at the school. And for most nights he is sleeping through the nights with an occasional waking maybe once or twice a week at night. Unfortunately he is still not a fan of taking long naps, just cat naps throughout the day, but then we do not want to complain because most nights he sleeps through them and we have to even wake him up for school. It seems he might be our one who loves to sleep because we go in to wake him, and he stirs for a second then goes back to sleep. He loves to fight to go to sleep but once asleep at night he is good to go. We are slowly introducing table food to him....this week he had spaghetti for the first time and seemed to like it. We have tried peas before but seems to choke on the skin, and he eats bananas and of course waffles. But slowly but surely we will get to more foods should he not choke - he seems to choke easy on everything thus far!
These are a few pictures from today that we took of him....he has finally noticed the paper with the number on it and was more interested in that rather than taking a picture!! Oh well, you get the gist of it!!

Another Late Post
Here are a few pictures from our plane ride to GA a couple weeks back....not the best quality as it was with my phone, but a picture nonetheless!!
And the picture below is one of Caelum when I went to pick him up one day last week - a bit blurry but too funny. They gave him his pacifier and he was turning his head and slept like that in his swing.
Busy Week and New Addition
Then on Tuesday night the boys played in the backyard in the water. Thankfully we have a privacy fence as the boys love to be naked, so we just let go at in the back!
Jason and I were both off for the 4th of July and off Thursday as well. The house got a much needed cleaning and we bought home our newest addition.......not the best picture as I took it with my phone yesterday morning once I got to work (It was dark when we got home with her on Thursday night.) Hopefully we can take some more pictures later on.
Then Friday, it was back to work for me and Jason left to go fishing at the coast with his Uncle and will be home late Saturday. This weekend, I am trying to change up the dining room with a sea theme...but pictures may come of that later, as it is slow going with a baby who will not nap.
