Dirty Girl

Last weekend, two friends and I participated in the Dirty Girl Mud Run....and oh it was sooo much fun!!  Here are a couple of pictures from then.  Over the next few months there are a few more fun runs that we hope to participate in but with a bigger group.  We had more people in our group but everyone was backing out - sorry for them as they missed out on some great dirty fun!!

A Post for Kerrick

So I have not put up any post lately specifically for our Big Man Kerrick!!  He is becoming such a big boy way too fast!  He is doing really well at the Potty Training...he has got down  #1 really well even at nap and night time.  So he is totally diaper free all the time now.  #2 is still a work in progress, but I would say he is about 75% complete on that...within the last week he has not had any accidents and has been using the potty for #2.  He gets soooo excited and has to show us his poop while he jumps up and down saying "I Poop!"  Too funny how excited we get over some poop!
He moved up to the Busy Bee class a couple of weeks ago and loves it.  The mornings are tough for him as we have to drop him off with the Big Kids Class (Elementary School kids) and he hangs out with them until his teachers come.  He has not quite adjusted to that, but there is one sweet girl who is about 7 or so who walks over and hugs him and takes him by the hand to hang with her until he goes to his class.  If she does not come get him, then he just stands there by himself (oh so sad and hard to leave him like that!)  But he is doing well and getting so grown up and way too smart!!

Here are  few  pictures from Thanksgiving Day (since I did not do a post for Thanksgiving!)

Update on Caelum

This past Wednesday we spent the day at the hospital and doctors office with Caelum with all of his Urology Follow-up appointments.  We started off with ultrasounds of kidneys which took a while as he was a wiggle worm and it was hard to keep him still to get all of the images.  Then we went to get the VCUG in which required him to get a catheter, then they fill his bladder then wait for him to pee it all out and take pictures while he is doing that.  They did the VCUG 2 times, so he was not a happy camper but thankfully was so worn out by the second test that he was a bit calmer.  After the testing we then headed to the doctor to get the final results in which we pretty much knew them already.  But  basically his right kidney has cleared up of the reflux but his left kidney now has a low grade reflux and is still obstructed (known as a UPJ obstruction - for those who want to google it.)  Thankfully the left kidney has not gotten any worst on the obstruction part but has not gotten any better either.  So we will now go back in 3 months for a Renal Scan in which they will see how the left kidney is functioning.  Caelum had a renal scan at 6 months in which he had to get an IV and a catheter and lay strapped on the bed for at least 45 minutes, so it shall be an interesting time this time with a mobile toddler being strapped down!!  Thank goodness for technology in that hopefully he will be interested in watching a movie by then?!!  At the last renal scan his left kidney was doing 45% off the work and right about 55% so it was going fine last time, so we will see.    The Urologist says that if kids outgrow this it is usually by the time they are 2.5 years of age.  So it is pretty much still a waiting game unless his kidney is not functioning good still.  Thankfully he gets to stop his antibiotic he has been taking every day since birth after this weekend.  So that will be nice to not have to worry with that every night as he is getting to where he does not want to take it .
Yesterday Caelum had his 1 year well child appointment.  Here are his stats...
Weight - 20.2 lbs (11%)
Height - 28.3 inches (7%)
Head Circumference - in 73%
He got his 1 year shots which consists of 5 actual injections and had blood work done as well.  So it was not a fun appointment but did WAY better than I expected.  He slept all night and woke up in a great mood this morning and moving around fine like he has no soreness! Praise the Lord!!

The first  picture is of Caelum during his testing on Wednesday...this was before he got really upset!  The second one is from last weekend when we were playing around in the "photo studio" for the first time - it is a little blurry, but Jason was trying to set everything up when it was taken!
