Visiting

We have been doing some visiting the past few days at our jobs to introduce Kerrick to our friends/co-workers.
Thursday we took Kerrick to my work to visit everyone....and he was a champ through it all. He slept the entire time but got a bit fussy at the end only because it was about time to eat.
Yesterday we took him to Jason's job and he was oohed and awwed over again there. And of course slept through it all! The pic above is from yesterday before we headed to base, Kerrick is all bright eyed and excited to go. We even stopped to see a few jets to take off with the window down and did not even move with all the noise.
And then early this morning it began to snow here and the last measurement Jason took was a little over 5 inches of snow. Craziness - the most we have ever seen since we can remember! So of course Jason wanted to get out and drive around. He went for a test drive first and then came back to get us girls and Kerrick. So we drove to Yorktown beach to look around and get a few more donuts in...in which Kerrick did not even bat an eye! Although he slept through most of it, I believe he has enjoyed his first snow storm! :)
We are most thankful for the snow because that meant Gramm's gets to stay a few more days as she is snowed in up here - oh darn!! It has been wonderful to have all the family come up here and help us out and to have Gramm's be able to stay longer to help us out! She has been more help than I think she knows. It is going to be hard to say good-bye as it has been to see everyone else leave. But thankfully she will be back in a few weeks! WOOHOO!!
We will post some snow pics tomorrow after we get them off the camera!

Photography Time

Yesterday Kerrick had his first photography session :) The photographer was able to come to our house and get his newborn pictures completed. He did great through it all...despite being cold because he was naked the entire time. The whole session took 3 hours in which we had fit in a feeding in that time which then led to him peeing on everything at least 3 times....it was kinda funny because like I said poor guy had nothing on for 3 hours!! I will post the website to see some of the pics once the photographer is able to post them on her blog.
Today we went to my job to introduce Kerrick to everyone and they all oohed and awwed over him. He slept the whole time amongst everyone poking at him. He starting waking up as we were about to leave as it was past time for him to eat, but he did great meeting everyone!!
Looks like we will be doing some serious hibernating the next few days as some cold weather and snow is suppose to head our way! So hopefully I will get some pics off our camera and Gramm's camera and post some new ones on here of our growing lil boy!!

Follow-up Doctors Visit

We went to the doctor today to follow-up with the lactation consultant to check on Kerrick's weight. The consultant was not in so he ended up seeing the doctor. He is now 6.6 lbs and is 19.5 inches long. She said he is doing well and the breastfeeding is a continous work in progress.
The pic above is one Daddy took in the office. There are a couple more we will post later on of him before we left this morning.

1st Doctors Visit

Kerrick went to his first doctors appointment on Wednesday. All went well and he only lost a few ounces. He was down to 6.1 ounces and checked out good with the doctor. We will go back tomorrow for another weight check to see how much he has gained. They are only checking him due to me breastfeeding.
He is doing great and is a wonderful baby. He has been sleeping 3-4 hours at a time and eating like crazy.
Jason's dad flew in Wednesday night while Chris had to fly back home on Thursday to go back to work. Today, Jason's parents left and so did Dad B. My mom is able to stay a big longer to help us out and spend time with Kerrick. We were/are SO greatful that everyone was able to come and help us out with Kerrick and ge us started on parenthood - we could not have had better "experienced" parents to help us!

Kerrick Rhys Wells is HERE!!

We welcomed our gift from God, Kerrick Rhys on Sunday, January 17, 2010. He was born at 1652 and weighed 6 lbs, 4 oz and was 19 inches long. Some of the family (my parents and brother and J's mom) made it in Sunday evening and J's dad will be in tomorrow to meet Kerrick. All is well and we are settled in at home.
Click here and you can see some pics of our little blessing.
We truly felt all the prayers through the whole pregnancy and labor. We had a quick, fabulous delivery. I started contracting at 1315 on Sunday afternoon, arrived at the hospital at 1500 to find out I was 10 cm dilated and Kerrick came at 1652. No time for any drugs, which I was on debate about - so due to the time and circumstance it was a natural delivery!! I Praise God for His strength and such an awesome Husband/Coach through it all. J did a fabulous job and is such an awesome Daddy!!

And Waiting....

We went to the doctor yesterday for our weekly check "in" and still no movement. No dilation, no dropping, no nothing...looks like Baby Boy wants to take his sweet time and stay in the warm oven a bit more. But the doctor does want us to go next week for yet another ultrasound this time to make sure he is not getting too big....only a month ago I measured too small and they wanted to check on him. But that is ok, at least we get another peek at him. The doctor felt my stomach and was like you are all baby and I don't think your frame can handle delivering a big baby, so we will do an US next week to see just how big he has gotten. And then we will go from there. So I guess I need to add some more exercising to the schedule and try to help things progress a bit more naturally - we shall see.
And on top of that yesterday I get a call from my dad stating I have been summoned for jury duty in SC....too funny! So I have to get some paperwork together in the next few days to get myself out of that lovely assignment. I am expected to appear February 2! Had to laugh at that one!
We pray you all are doing great and not too cold - looks like we may have a warm front these next few days here.
I hope to post a few pics this weekend of the finished nursery and Baby Boys newest gear - his stroller/carseat and playpen!

Waiting.....

So we have only 3.5 weeks left until Baby Wells is due to make his grand appearance. We went to the doctor yesterday for our weekly visit. All went well with the visit. They starting checking my cervix at this visit and without any surprise it is still closed. I do feel he is still sitting high, so it will be a bit longer. So it looks like we will be doing lots more walking along with good ol aerobics!! He is doing well, moving and hiccuping like crazy!! So not much else going on here, just waiting. Hopefully this weekend we will get some pics of the nursery finalized up on here....J has to touch up the paint on the animals and we will be finished!!
We hope you are all staying warm - as it is way chilly here and we might get to see some snow tonight or tomorrow!!
GOOO HORNS!!!
