Happy Birthday Mom!!

Today is Jason's moms birthday! Happy Birthday!

Birthday Blessings
By Joanna Fuchs
Instead of counting candles,
Or tallying the years,
Contemplate your blessings,
As your birthday nears.
Consider special people
Who love you, and who care,
And others who’ve enriched your life
Just by being there.
Think about the memories
Passing years can never mar,
Experiences great and small
That have made you who you are.
Another year is a happy gift,
So cut your cake, and say,
"Instead of counting birthdays,
I count blessings every day!"

We hope you are having a wonderful day and we can not wait to see you guys in a week!!
Love you - J and M

Almost Done!

I am officially done with my preceptorship as of 1100 am this morning. I had to go in for 4 hours this morning and finish up my hours for preceptorship...and then I decided to take an afternoon off for a change and come home and get some things done around the house (Can not tell you the last time I had any time off!!) Anyhooo...it definitely feels great to only be a week away from officially being finished with LPN school. Now I just have to hit the books really hard for the next month or so in studying for my boards.
These past 2 weeks have definitely been some trying weeks....mainly for Jason. When it rains it pours around here. We had car problems in which he thought was resolved and then our computer was acting up and then car problems again this week amongst crazy stuff going at his work. So we have finally decided that we are going to sale both whitey and the blue car and get him a truck. WOOHOO!! We are totally putting it all in the Lord's hands as to all that goes on with selling a car, 2 cars at that and purchasing a nused (new to us but used) truck. I must admit I do feel a bit of a relief about it all because I am always worried with him driving ol blue (although she has been way to good to us until lately) at night going fishing. So now he will have a reliable piece of machinery to go fishing in, not to mention work!!
So we just ask for prayers in the decisions we will be making in the next few days/weeks in regards to that. Also, I am trying to get everything together in that I can start an RN program here in September...so prayers that we do what the will of the Lord is for us!!
We hope you all are having a good week!!

Fishies

J went fishing last night and finally the fishies were biting. Here are a few pics! I don't have the specs on them yet because I was sleeping when he got home, but I will share once I talk with him this evening! He caught several fish but these were the ones he took pics of.

More Lasts....

Another week of Lasts here in good ol VA...I had my last final exam of nursing school on Tuesday and then I started my preceptorship today. I will be on the orthopedics floor working fun 12 hour shifts for the next 2 weeks...which is good, because J will be fishing lots now that the water is warming up!
This pic is of us on Monday morning before school/work. J has to wear his blues every Monday now and this was the last time we would be in our uniforms at the same time (gotta love that stylish bag of a nursing uniform - feels like I am wearing a huge maternity bag!!)
We hope you all are having a good week - sorry for the short blog this time....not too much exciting going on with us other than work and school.....BUT please do pray for J as he is taking his test on Monday to test for Tech. Sgt!!! WOOHOO!!

Revelation Song

A friend of mine "introduced" me to the music of Kari Jobe....what a wonderful musician who loves the Lord! Here is a song we have been singing at church for a few weeks now and after our service this past weekend, I can not get it out of my head...so I thought I would share with you all.

I am not sure how to upload just the music, so check out this video.

Be Blessed!

SNOW DAY!!!

We FINALLY got some snow here!! All schools were cancelled and everyone was on late reporting for the military except for Langley. Kinda crazy...but J waited until a bit later to go in because the roads are covered in ice and snow on top and they still expected everyone to come in. Thankfully my school was cancelled but I will go into work around noon - try to let the crazy drivers get to work first and then I will head out!! LOL :)
It was extremely windy throughout the night and raining, sleeting, snowing and whatever other kind of precipitation and J was saying...poor ol whitey, he gets her running and she gets stuck out in the bad weather.
Here are a few pics...

A Week of Lasts....

I am in awe at how fast my school year has flown by. This past week has begun all the "lasts" of everything. It was my last clinical week with my group...so of course we had to go celebrate after clinicals on Wednesday. We also received our information for graduation and applications to take our boards test...I am EXTREMELY nervous already for my boards. The ending of school is definitely a bittersweet thing. Excited to finally accomplish one more goal yet bitter because I will not see my new friends every day, all day, like we have been for the last 11 months. I have definitely made some wonderful friends and we have all become "family" to each other over the last 11 months. I just can only pray that I have left His mark in their life.... By the way, our graduation is Thursday, August 20. So if any is bored and want to come, you are more than welcome to come.
It has been an interesting week as well because our household has been full of car problems that started last Saturday. The beamer decided she wanted to show off a bit. The door locks were not working correctly and the starter was going out (J had an appointment already scheduled later in week for the starter but seeing how the locks decided to mess up we took her in on Saturday.) So we had a courtesy car all week up until Friday. Praise the Lord for warranties and the fact that they gave us a courtesy car. On Wednesday, the blue car decided she would like to show off a bit too and "broke down" on Jason at work. So as it always seems to go, we have bible study on Wednesday night and had to miss it due to car problems....we are NOT giving the devil any more credit but praising the Lord for the many blessings he has given us this week. So J, has spent all weekend working on ol whitie to get her running and "grounding" the blue car in the meantime:)
I must say I was sitting on our couch yesterday and today studying and I would hear J start the white car up and my insides would jump with excitement, knowing that she would crank up after sitting there for months on end. As I am excited as can be, J comes in all mad because something is clicking, ticking, or rubbing or making some kinda noise. He has a very senstive ear, well at least for the cars (sometimes has selective hearing when I am yapping to him with one of my stories.) JK LOL! I have been out to help him a bit and he would be like don't you hear that....it would be a suttle noise but to him it is super loud:) Too funny! So as I am typing this, I am praying Lord may I hear your voice as Jason hears these "super loud" noises of his car. I feel most times that I am missing His voice or not listening hard enough or not in tune with Him....but oh my prayer is that I become more in tune with His voice like J is in tune or in sync with ol whitey and her noises!
We hope you all have had a wonderful weekend....we are just hoping to finally see some snow tonight or tomorrow?!!
