Prayer Request

Well, I am way late in getting this post out....but prayer is still needed. Jason's grandpa, Poppa, just had knee surgery on Tuesday. Surgery went well and he is already running the halls with his knee (well maybe not quite running yet!) Last night he spiked a temp of 102, so they took a chest x-ray to see if it was pneumonia, but no results back yet...but he is feeling better. But we just ask for prayer in that he have a speedy recovery and that the spiked temp was just a one time deal and nothing else is going on!

A Must See...

Well, I am not in front of the tv much nor have we been to a movie lately...so I guess I must have missed this preview. But I just saw it on msn.com...check it out here. Looks like it may be another movie similar to Radio, in which I love that movie!

Just an Update

Just wanted to let you know that my dad made it through surgery great and was resting in bed when I talked to mom at noon yesterday.

We are just praying all goes smoothly with the surgery and that he has a speedy recovery. (And patience for my mom as she will be taking care of him during the recovery time!:)

Self Control

I was finally able to get to one of Joyce Meyer's sessions at her conference that she had here this pas weekend. What a wonderful service led by Hillsong and to hear what the Lord spoke through Joyce. She spoke on self control and oh what a wonderful word I needed to hear. In order to keep this blog short, here are a few points and some verses to meditate on....
The way you leave one place is the way you enter another. (say you turn in your 2 weeks notice at work and those last 2 weeks you just coast by to end this position - well when you start your new job you will have the same attitude of just coasting by)
She spoke about our mouths and how we should control them.
1. How you talk about yourself and your future (never say negative or disrespectful things about yourself, line your mouth up with the word- who are we to disrespect the creation of God (we were created by God and if we speak these things about ourselves, we are disrespected God))
2. Control your mouth by how you talk about God
3. Control your mouth by how you talk about other people
4. Lastly, be careful how you talk during trials and tribulations
And here are some verses....
Proverbs 6:2, 8:6-8, 10:12, 19

And a few steps to self control...
Make a plan and then set your mind and keep it set on what God wants

Hopefully that made some sense, as it is hard to keep it all brief and it make sense???
May you all have a blessed week!
And lastly, I have finally been able to put up a pic of J's new ride!! God is good!!

Finally.....

Well, it has been a bit since I last blogged but we had been a bit preoccupied. We flew out April 4 to head to Texas to visit J's family. We had not been out that way in 1.5 years, so it was nice to go out see everyone. The trip, just like any vacation time, flew by. We managed to squeeze in 3 days at the coast (Port Aransas) with J's parents and brother, wife and nieces. Despite the weather being a bit chilly at the coast it was definitely relaxing times. Jason and I were not prepared for the "cold" air in Texas....we only took short sleeve stuff and shorts and a few pairs of long pants. Thankfully, I was able to borrow mom's fleece jacket for our whole stay. Our last night in Texas we went to visit our good friends in San Antonio, Mike and Jamilia. We were all in Germany together and have lots of memories with them. It was GREAT to see them and see their son Caden all grown up. We were thankful they are so close the family in that we could see them.
We got back this past Tuesday to the rainy, cold VA weather. And I was back at work on Thursday. I officially started as a nurse (practicing nurse, waiting to take my boards to be a licensed nurse.) Speaking of which, I am scheduled to take my boards on 5 May...in which I am extremely nervous about. I have not studied much at all for the test, but this weekend and for the next 2 weeks, I plan to hit it hard.
Jason goes back to work on Monday, but he has been able to get a few things accomplished around the house here. He tidied up a few things on the blue car in which it just about ready to go on the market to sell and got a nice wax job in on his new ride. And is getting in some fishing time this evening and taking his catch to a friends house to cook up!
We had a wonderful service at church last night that was just for the leaders in the church. It is so amazing to see what God has done and is doing in our church!! I often think about how awesome it is to be apart of God's kingdom and His plan. I sit in awe many times thinking about how much the Lord has blessed us through this church....He has surely planted us here in Virginia for a reason, which is being revealed to us bit by bit! Our God is so amazing!
Tomorrow I will be going to hear Joyce Meyer and Darlene Zschech - powerful women of God! I am extremely excited to go. I was to go tonight, but I got held up at work and was not able to meet up with my friends to carpool together. But thankfully she will have one more service tomorrow morning.
Well, I better cut this blog now, as it keeps getting longer.

The pics above were sent from J's mom...we did not have room to bring our camera :( The first pic is of J and his brother, Brad, in a deep conversation. The next pic is of J and I when his parents picked us up at the airport. And then a pic of our adorable nieces, Katelyn and Kara. And lastly the close up shot is us being bored at the airport (thanks to our handy camera on the laptop) LOL

Destination Graduation!

So that was our theme for the school year...Destination Graduation! And YES, we have finally arrived. Today is officially our last day of school. We had to do one more "exit to-do" check-off this morning and then we are having a graduation luncheon from 12-3 this afternoon. At the luncheon we will get our nursing pins and will be presented awards, if we won any?! So it is a very exciting time. And of course there will be pictures posted later on (if our computer will cooperate?)
Also, this week, our life group surprised me with a cake and a beautiful gift (I will try to post a pic of it too.) But is a nurse angel with golden wings and a few words written on the bottom of her dress. My explanation does not do the present justice - so I will let the picture speak for it when I can post them later on.
And lastly and another exciting thing is happening in the Wells' household....J is finally getting a truck. He unfortunately will be missing my luncheon to pick it up, but under the circumstances that have come up with the seller, he has to pick it up today before 4pm. :( I am very sad he will not be there to celebrate with me, but it is something that has to be done. And of course we will have pictures of his new ride later on as well.
And to end the week off, we will be heading to Texas tomorrow to spend a few days with our family and go visit some friends of ours. We are looking forward to seeing everyone and of course to have a break from the "ol daily grind!" :)
May you all have a wonderful weekend...and until the next post, hopefully full of pictures, we will talk with you then!
