Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's 51st birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Here is a poem I found for you today....
I find myself wondering...
Did I give you your due..
For all that you've done for me
Did I ever thank you?
For all of my childhood memories
For helping me deal with life's stresses
For helping me accept my defeats
And celebrate my successes?
Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
Good judgement, courage, and being true
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared
Did I ever thank you?
If I have forgotten, I'm thanking you now
You taught me right from wrong....
I hope you know how much you're loved and appreciated
I hope you, instinctively, knew it all along.
Thanks Dad for all you have done for me and taught me throughout life. I can only pray that as we dive into this new chapter of our lives, parenthood, that I only take the lessons I have learned and the parenting style you and mom had and carry that on with our child.
Love ya Dad and I hope you have a Happy Birthday today!!

Good Times

This past Thursday I had my graduation ceremony for LPN school. So we had a bit of the family come in to celebrate with us....Nanny, Mom W, Dad and Mom B. They all came in on Wednesday and left Saturday. It was good times and good memories. Graduation went well despite it being EXTREMELY hot in the auditorium. Also, while everyone was here we celebrated my dad's birthday one evening, even his birthday is not until Tuesday, but hey, we have to take every opportunity to celebrate birthdays with any family in person seeing how it does not happen that often.
Also on Thursday, we had our OB appointment in which all the family came. The mom's and Jason went back first and we heard the baby's heartbeat and then the NP was very generous and did an ultrasound in that all the family came back and could see baby wells moving around. Although the baby was being a bit stubborn and would not open its' legs, we will have to wait until the next visit to see what we will be having. Our next appointment is on September 16 (22 more days away!)
You can click here to see pics from this past weekend. I have not labeled them, sorry :( Also, pics of the baby will be posted later on today as well!
Hope you all have a good week!!

Finally had to do it!
Well I finally broke down this weekend and started wearing maternity clothes. I have been putting it off...well maybe not putting it off, more like dreading it. It is amazing how fast your body changes. I have 2 pairs of my own pants left that I can still wear and well let's just say my shirts are not so attractive any more - kinda shows an extra roll or 2 now. So Saturday night to church I wore an actual maternity shirt and then Sunday wore maternity shorts and shirt. It felt nice, but just looked like I had on a big tent, as Jason said! He knew I was dreading it, so he had to make fun with it...but of course would say I looked nice afterwards :) LOL! Too Funny! So Thanks to my parents and to my sister-in-law, Kelly, for starting out my maternity wadrobe.

New Ride!
Well J has sold one ride and has a new one on the way....nope not a car - a kayak! He has been wanting a pedal drive (I believe that is the term) for a few months now and found one for a great deal in Texas. He posted his for sale on Sunday and sold it last night -Praise the Lord!! He will be heading to Texas for a guys week with his Dad and brother..they will go elk hunting and get in lots of fishing at the coast while he is there! I think it was Brad who found the kayak for sale in Texas and it was like the one J wanted, and was a great deal, so Brad will be picking it up sometime and J will use while he is on his trip out there and then have it shipped back! So needless to say it is a bittersweet time in this household right now...J is a bit bummed because that means no fishing for a month, yet excited because he will have a sweet water whip waiting on him in Texas!
In the nursing world, I was officially accepted in the RN program at the school i just graduated from. I chose to start next September. The bridge program will be from September to December in which is all online except 2 week of clinicals and then I will be in school full time January - June and then that will be it and hopefully pass my boards to be an RN!! WOOHOO.
Also, this week I applied for a job at Fort Eustis that is near our house to work in one of their clinics. I love the job where I am now, but in the long run is not a good option for me. I have been wanting to go back civil service because of all the benefits not to mention the pay is better. But the big ticket that sells me into to going back civil service is that everytime we move, all my benefits go with me (that is,if I continue on as civil service at the next destination we head to.) But if I stay in the civilian sector, I have to almost start all over at the bottom each time we move. So if you think about it in the weeks to come, please say a prayer that all the decisions if any, that need to be made are the right ones. And if I do not get this job, it is ok too, because I have a great job right now!
That is about all going on around here this week!
