Another Short Day at the Park

Not too much new going on here, thus is why no post have been on here. We are just counting down the weekends until Jason comes home!! WOOHOOO!! Kerrick has been a little bit under the weather this past with cold or allergies and then later in the week caught the ol hand, foot, and mouth disease. He is quite the trooper as these bumps/blisters look horrible and painful and it does not seem to bother him in the least bit. The ones on his feet have gotten worst throughout the day today. And he has them on his bottom as well. He was a bit clingy yesterday but no fevers at all with it in which I talked to one of the doctors I work with and they said he can go to school as long as there is no fever. Although I feel horrible for sending him to school, so we will see how tomorrow goes. They may still send him home or if he is not feeling well I will ask them to call me. Normally they only call if he has a fever....so we shall see.
But here is a picture I took of Kerrick Saturday evening at a park close to our house. It was oh so hot and he only wanted to stay out for like 10 minutes and he was done.

Lil Munchkin #2 Update

Today we had our OB appointment. We got to see the lil one via ultrasound again. They did a bunch of pictures and were mainly focusing on his/her kidneys, to recheck to see if anything was cleared up from our last ultrasound. Unfortunately, the munchkin's kidneys are still retaining a bit of fluid (medically called Hydronephrosis) and we will now proceed on the see a Perinatologist from here on out as well as seeing our normal OB doctor. Lil Munchkin's kidneys are measuring in the 0.6cm range and it gets really concerning if they reach 1.0cm. This is a very common diagnoses for fetuses and most of the time it is resolved before the baby is born. So I am not too concerned now and just giving it all to the Lord to take care of. The Perinatologist will just be able to monitor the baby closer and do more scans to keep an eye on the kidneys. But otherwise the Lil One is doing really well and is super active. He/She is laying sideways in the womb and just kept doing spiral turns during the whole ultrasound - too funny! We got a thumbs up from the little one, although I was not given that picture to bring home. But they also was just opening and closing its mouth and eyes. I know they can not be hungry as much weight as I have gained thus far, they have plenty to be eating on or using up. But Lil Munchkin weighs a little over 2 pounds and we are measuring exactly 26 weeks with a due date set for November 21...so still on track thus far.

Here are the pictures they gave us from today....some really good face shots for Daddy!!

Speaking of Daddy...Jason is doing really good! Unfortunately they lost their softball game Wednesday night, but said they are at least having fun! And there was an actual breeze to help keep it cool or maybe not as hot - if cool is even an option there?! But he will hopefully be taking his cleps soon. But in the meantime, he is going through an Expeditionary Warfare Training (EXW) which consists of 10-12 different disciplines to include a written exam/ and a board portion and firing the 9mm and passing a second class swimming test. He got expert on the 9mm firing and was best of the group, shooting 233 out of 240. But basically this EXW is pretty prestigious for someone other than a Navy member to have (that is my own terms - Jason may describe it as something else.) But if you are in the Navy and do not have this award you are pretty much frowned upon - but the Air Force does not offer this. So it seems pretty cool and now they are checking to see if they can wear this badge on his Air Force uniform. Hopefully he can complete the course as it does take a while.

Kerrick is doing well too...although he has gotten in trouble some at school this week. He and a little girl were fighting some yesterday and he had to go to Time Out at school. Last week he came home with a bite mark on his back and today I noticed one on his wrist - they forgot to give me his accident report about that, but I will get it tomorrow. Let the fun times begin!! I hate he is getting bit but at the same time, I hope he is not going to pick up that lovely habit - although I know this is the grand age that they start this! He seems to be saying something new everyday too! Kids are just way to amazing and such sponges! The past 2 nights he comes up to me and says PooPoo and sure enough - his diaper will need changing! - Do we hear potty training soon - not sure?!!

Other than that - not too much else going on this week! We hope you all have had a wonderful week!

A Picture Finally

Jason finally took a self portrait of himself and here it is....with his swank apartment in the background. He is doing really well yet ready to come on home. He is still looking into clepping these lasat 2 classes but will find out a more definite this week. So if he has to take one of the classes he will start that next week. Softball is going well as they won their game last week. He said it is a short season, only 8 or 9 games. His next game is Wednesday in the sweltering heat - I can not imagine playing is such hot conditions, but it is all for fun!!

Park and Swimming

The water did not last too long in his water bottle as Kerrick wanted to put rocks in it instead!

Yesterday we went to the park on Lackland for a while and here are a few pictures from the morning. Kerrick usually wants to play on all the equipment most of the time we are there and swing for a few minutes but yesterday he wanted to swing mostly. He had a playmate out there with him that was a few months younger, but they would swing and laugh together!

And we thought today was our last day in swimming but we were all misinformed and next week is his last week of swimming....they had told everybody that today was, but is now next Sunday. Kerrick did great in swimming today! Every week they have a theme in which all the classes learn or focus on. And this week was the Olympics!! So we did a few of the normal stuff then we all went and sat on the steps with the kids in our laps. First was the kicking event....Then we were teaching him how to swim with his arms....and last in the "competition" was swimming. So the Coach came by and got each child and stood a couple feet away and would let them swim to us. She would not put them under water unless they did it themselves. But ol Kerrick went right under and swam to me....she was like "that boy can swim!!"" Too funny!! Might have a gold medalist on our hands!! LOL!!

Hope you all have a good week!

18 month Stats

Kerrick had his 18 month well child appointment this afternoon. I of course have been dreading it knowing he had to get 2 shots. And of course he acted like a pro with the shots. He cried for the initial poke and then was over it in like 5 seconds. The doctor visit was great and Kerrick sat still and quiet while the doctor examined him. We are still battling the good ol eczema, but I sure hope the poor kids outgrows it. We are fortunate in that I do not think it bothers him in the least but does look oh so itchy and painful at times. Unfortunately Kerrick got my skin and Daddy's feet. The ol Athletes foot is still there along with it spreading onto his pinky toenail....but hopefully we can get it cleared up so it does not spread to his other toenails! But overall, a healthy little man we have!
I felt bad about his shots, so we stopped to get Kerrick some ice cream...the only picture I got of today:(
And here are his stats for his growth, I forgot to get the percentiles, but will do that on Monday!

Weight - 27.2 lbs
Height - 31 in
Head - 19 in

Kerrick's First Dental Appointment

Waiting to see the dentist.

Waiting on the dentist office to open

Trying out my new toothbrush!

Kerrick went to the dentist for the first time today...we were a little behind in getting him to his first appointment. But he did great at his first dental appointment considering. So he played for about 10 minutes in there and it was his turn for the chair. He fussed a bit laying down in the exam chair but I held his arms while the Dentist counted his teeth and brushed them with something like a fluoride treatment (but was not exactly a fluoride treatment - I forgot what they said it was) He fussed a little bit through that. He was only in the chair maybe 2 minutes max, but was fine afterwards. The Dentist said he had some pretty baby teeth and all looked well and his molars were coming in good! And then we were done and he got a new toothbrush, a sticker and a squeaky little whale. So he goes back every 6 months.
