Today we had our OB appointment. We got to see the lil one via ultrasound again. They did a bunch of pictures and were mainly focusing on his/her kidneys, to recheck to see if anything was cleared up from our last ultrasound. Unfortunately, the munchkin's kidneys are still retaining a bit of fluid (medically called Hydronephrosis) and we will now proceed on the see a Perinatologist from here on out as well as seeing our normal OB doctor. Lil Munchkin's kidneys are measuring in the 0.6cm range and it gets really concerning if they reach 1.0cm. This is a very common diagnoses for fetuses and most of the time it is resolved before the baby is born. So I am not too concerned now and just giving it all to the Lord to take care of. The Perinatologist will just be able to monitor the baby closer and do more scans to keep an eye on the kidneys. But otherwise the Lil One is doing really well and is super active. He/She is laying sideways in the womb and just kept doing spiral turns during the whole ultrasound - too funny! We got a thumbs up from the little one, although I was not given that picture to bring home. But they also was just opening and closing its mouth and eyes. I know they can not be hungry as much weight as I have gained thus far, they have plenty to be eating on or using up. But Lil Munchkin weighs a little over 2 pounds and we are measuring exactly 26 weeks with a due date set for November 21...so still on track thus far.
Here are the pictures they gave us from today....some really good face shots for Daddy!!
Speaking of Daddy...Jason is doing really good! Unfortunately they lost their softball game Wednesday night, but said they are at least having fun! And there was an actual breeze to help keep it cool or maybe not as hot - if cool is even an option there?! But he will hopefully be taking his cleps soon. But in the meantime, he is going through an Expeditionary Warfare Training (EXW) which consists of 10-12 different disciplines to include a written exam/ and a board portion and firing the 9mm and passing a second class swimming test. He got expert on the 9mm firing and was best of the group, shooting 233 out of 240. But basically this EXW is pretty prestigious for someone other than a Navy member to have (that is my own terms - Jason may describe it as something else.) But if you are in the Navy and do not have this award you are pretty much frowned upon - but the Air Force does not offer this. So it seems pretty cool and now they are checking to see if they can wear this badge on his Air Force uniform. Hopefully he can complete the course as it does take a while.
Kerrick is doing well too...although he has gotten in trouble some at school this week. He and a little girl were fighting some yesterday and he had to go to Time Out at school. Last week he came home with a bite mark on his back and today I noticed one on his wrist - they forgot to give me his accident report about that, but I will get it tomorrow. Let the fun times begin!! I hate he is getting bit but at the same time, I hope he is not going to pick up that lovely habit - although I know this is the grand age that they start this! He seems to be saying something new everyday too! Kids are just way to amazing and such sponges! The past 2 nights he comes up to me and says PooPoo and sure enough - his diaper will need changing! - Do we hear potty training soon - not sure?!!
Other than that - not too much else going on this week! We hope you all have had a wonderful week!
