This week started off first thing like last week but could only and has gotten much better. Sunday, I took Kerrick to the urgent care because the previous 2 nights he was up most of the night crying which is totally not like him. So low and behold he had a flaming ear infection. Kerrick never shows the "normal" signs of ear infections, so when he gets them we have had no idea as he is not a complainer. So he is on antibiotics and doing much better with that and sleeping through the night. Then Monday morning started off with Kerrick chipping a few teeth and a big ol bruise on his chin. After he finished breakfast he stood up in his seat (in which we are constantly telling him to sit down) and was facing backwards in his chair. I was at the sink telling him to sit down as I was rinsing my hands and drying them (working my way over to him.) And as I was heading towards him the chair flipped backwards and he hit his chin on his table. It scared the you know what out of him and of course scared him and I am sure hurt like no other. So after some inspection and pressing on different parts of his head and face, I thought he was ok and saw nothing on initial inspection. So we continued on our morning and took him to school. That afternoon after he got home from school and Jason got home from work we noticed his two front teeth and one or two of his teeth on the bottom were chipped. I guess I did not notice it that morning as I was shaking from the scare for a while. Thankfully it has not affected his eating or anything. He already has his 6 month dental checkup for next Monday so we will see if the dentist sees anything else.
But other than an accident at school everyday (accidentally bumping heads with another kid and then another kid scratching him!) He is doing well! He is talking like crazy and literally is saying something new everyday!! Like they say, kids are sponges and it is amazing to watch that.
Caelum is hopefully on the road to recovery??? He has been congested as well all this week and gets into some coughing/choking frenzies with the mucous. Unfortunately, not much we can do for the little guy besides the good ol home remedies (elevate bed, humidifier, suctioning etc.) So we got Kerrick sleeping good and now Caelum sleeps one 4 hour stretch and is up every hour after that. So I have spent a few hours on our fabulous new mattress then downstairs we go to the couch and he sleeps on/off in the swing (trying to get him propped up more?) Hopefully he is starting to get better as he has not coughed as much today?? But time will tell....but this is definitely calling for a our first serious Mommy to Son talk - "you got one week to get your sleeping together!!" aka - I start back to work in 2 weeks :(
Anyhoo...Caelum is doing great despite the congestion. He of course is getting big, loves to talk and be talked to, loves to watch the pendulum on the coo coo clock, LOVES watching Kerrick and watch Kerrick and Jason playing together!
So we will keep you posted!!
Will try to get some pics up too later on this week!!
