Here are a few pics from this past week. As you can see Kerrick is still battling the ol impetigo...although I think we have finally got it figured out. Poor little guy - I think it bothers us more than it does him - it does not seem to bother him at all. He goes for his 6 month well child appointment this Thursday so I will be one of those mom's demanding things. I spoke to one of my Attending Doctors I work with about Kerrick's impetigo. We have come to the conclusion that he will definitely need oral antibiotics as it is going on 2 months he has had this. It will clear up for like 2 or 3 days and then come back. So my doc said that only 10% of people carry it in their nose and only oral antibiotics will work. So we will be asking for that this week at his appointment. And he also advised to but bacitracin in his nostrils at night for 10 days to help clear out the infection in his nose. I knew of other infections carried in your nose (i.e. MRSA) but did not know about impetigo being carried in your nose. The medical field truly is a rewarding job and I am always learning something new everday!! LOVE my job! So anyhoooo....I will post his stats after his appointment this week.
