Dirty Girl

Last weekend, two friends and I participated in the Dirty Girl Mud Run....and oh it was sooo much fun!!  Here are a couple of pictures from then.  Over the next few months there are a few more fun runs that we hope to participate in but with a bigger group.  We had more people in our group but everyone was backing out - sorry for them as they missed out on some great dirty fun!!

A Post for Kerrick

So I have not put up any post lately specifically for our Big Man Kerrick!!  He is becoming such a big boy way too fast!  He is doing really well at the Potty Training...he has got down  #1 really well even at nap and night time.  So he is totally diaper free all the time now.  #2 is still a work in progress, but I would say he is about 75% complete on that...within the last week he has not had any accidents and has been using the potty for #2.  He gets soooo excited and has to show us his poop while he jumps up and down saying "I Poop!"  Too funny how excited we get over some poop!
He moved up to the Busy Bee class a couple of weeks ago and loves it.  The mornings are tough for him as we have to drop him off with the Big Kids Class (Elementary School kids) and he hangs out with them until his teachers come.  He has not quite adjusted to that, but there is one sweet girl who is about 7 or so who walks over and hugs him and takes him by the hand to hang with her until he goes to his class.  If she does not come get him, then he just stands there by himself (oh so sad and hard to leave him like that!)  But he is doing well and getting so grown up and way too smart!!

Here are  few  pictures from Thanksgiving Day (since I did not do a post for Thanksgiving!)

Update on Caelum

This past Wednesday we spent the day at the hospital and doctors office with Caelum with all of his Urology Follow-up appointments.  We started off with ultrasounds of kidneys which took a while as he was a wiggle worm and it was hard to keep him still to get all of the images.  Then we went to get the VCUG in which required him to get a catheter, then they fill his bladder then wait for him to pee it all out and take pictures while he is doing that.  They did the VCUG 2 times, so he was not a happy camper but thankfully was so worn out by the second test that he was a bit calmer.  After the testing we then headed to the doctor to get the final results in which we pretty much knew them already.  But  basically his right kidney has cleared up of the reflux but his left kidney now has a low grade reflux and is still obstructed (known as a UPJ obstruction - for those who want to google it.)  Thankfully the left kidney has not gotten any worst on the obstruction part but has not gotten any better either.  So we will now go back in 3 months for a Renal Scan in which they will see how the left kidney is functioning.  Caelum had a renal scan at 6 months in which he had to get an IV and a catheter and lay strapped on the bed for at least 45 minutes, so it shall be an interesting time this time with a mobile toddler being strapped down!!  Thank goodness for technology in that hopefully he will be interested in watching a movie by then?!!  At the last renal scan his left kidney was doing 45% off the work and right about 55% so it was going fine last time, so we will see.    The Urologist says that if kids outgrow this it is usually by the time they are 2.5 years of age.  So it is pretty much still a waiting game unless his kidney is not functioning good still.  Thankfully he gets to stop his antibiotic he has been taking every day since birth after this weekend.  So that will be nice to not have to worry with that every night as he is getting to where he does not want to take it .
Yesterday Caelum had his 1 year well child appointment.  Here are his stats...
Weight - 20.2 lbs (11%)
Height - 28.3 inches (7%)
Head Circumference - in 73%
He got his 1 year shots which consists of 5 actual injections and had blood work done as well.  So it was not a fun appointment but did WAY better than I expected.  He slept all night and woke up in a great mood this morning and moving around fine like he has no soreness! Praise the Lord!!

The first  picture is of Caelum during his testing on Wednesday...this was before he got really upset!  The second one is from last weekend when we were playing around in the "photo studio" for the first time - it is a little blurry, but Jason was trying to set everything up when it was taken!

Caelum's 1st Birthday Party!

We had Caelum's 1st Birthday Party on Saturday!  The theme was milk and cookies!  We had a wonderful time with the family and I believe Caelum had fun at the party - especially with his cake.  Thanks for everyone coming out to celebrate Caelum's first year with us and we sure missed those who were not able to make it.  He has his 1 year check up at the end of the month along with some Urology appointments...I will post his stats after his appointment (I am dreading his 1 year check up as it requires bloodwork and 5 shots not too mention all the urology testing (catheters and IV's) he will be getting 2 days prior to his well child appointment.)  I give shots and draw blood everyday on lil people but something makes it a little different when it is your own! Please say a little prayer for Caelum in that his kidneys have cleared and that all the procedures go smoothly and he recovers from all the shots quickly - I know he sure would appreciate that!!
Thanks again for ALL the birthday wishes!!

Veteran's Day

This past Sunday, Veteran's Day, Jason had to work, so I took the boys up to his work for lunch!  Kerrick got to "turn" the big truck....meaning, he got to drive the ranger!  They boys had fun riding around the camp with DaDa in the Ranger and seeing all the big trucks!  Here are a few pictures Jason took with his phone, as I left the camera in the car.  Sorry, Caelum is missing his pants due to him spilling juice all over it and me not having a spare pair.

Caelum is the BIG 1

Our littlest dude turned 1 today!!  Happy Birthday to you Caelum!  I can not believe he is a year already.  It is amazing how we are all so different with our personalities and how it comes out from the time we are first born.  Caelum is definitely on the opposite sides of personality with his brother!  LOL!!  But it has been a little challenging year, but definitely an amazing year with this little addition to our family! We surely can not imagine it without this lil dude!  We are so proud to be your parents and excited to see what the Lord has in store for him in his future!!
The picture is from tonight as Caelum got a cupcake to tear into while skyping with Teddy and Gramm's!
Happy Birthday to our lil Caelum!!
We love you so very much!!

Spiderman

Kerrick can not get enough of his Spiderman costume....he has asked to put it on every morning before school and we tell him can after school.  So this morning, being Saturday he asked, and so I put it on him.  Jason took him out so he can ride his bike and Jason said he was the talk of the neighborhood this morning!  Here are a few pictures...

Happy Halloween!!

Here are a few pictures of our little Spiderman and suppose to be Monkey (it was a bit too warm for Caelum to wear his whole Monkey costume, so he only has half of it on.)  A few of the pictures are from the Friday before Halloween after the boys got home from school....they had a little parade at school and Halloween party.  Kerrick was a bit "excited" on sugar and he was still in his costume when I picked him up from school.  He did not want to take it off.  The pictures of them outside is from Halloween night...we went over to one of Jason's coworkers and went Trick or Treating with them.  Caelum did not last long before he passed out in the stroller but Kerrick had fun and as you can see was digging into his candy after the first house!!

Caelum is 11 months old!!

Caelum turned 11 months old last week and of course I am slow at getting the post up.  But the day he turned 11 months old, I guess he thought he was big stuff as he finally had his first tooth to come through AND he started taking steps.  Within the next day his 2nd tooth broke all the way through as well and he was taking even more steps.  He has not mastered walking completely but is getting there and hopefully will be by his 1st birthday.  Caelum and Kerrick are starting to become "buds" (using that term loosely!!)  But they are playing a little more together without Caelum just screaming when Kerrick comes near him.  Kerrick can play a little rough at times with him and thankfully Caelum just laughs.   And if Kerrick is running by Caelum, he will just laugh and get all jumpy as he thinks Kerrick is coming after him!  But he is doing well despite a cold or allergies he is suffering right now which of course means waking up in the middle of the night again.  So hopefully this will pass soon and get back to sleeping all night!

BIG Day for the Fam!!

Today is a BIG day for the Wells household.  First of all, 1 year ago today Myself, Kerrick and Caelum in the oven and Jason's family were at the airport welcoming him back from another deployment.  Then had a cookout with a surprise visit from my parents to welcome him home as well.  The year has gone so quickly and many memories have been made just in this past year.
This morning, I got to go support Jason as he re-enlisted for 6 more years with the Air Force!!  The past 12 years has flown by as well and we have been blessed more than we can imagine.   As we were talking this morning, the Air Force has been pretty good to us (well Jason) and thankfully there have been more positives than negatives.  So now we shall wait and see where the Lord has us to go in 2 years!

These are a few pics from this morning!  Sorry they are not the best pics....still need to practice more with the camera!
