It has been one crazy week with 2 little ones in the house. It all started this past Friday when I took Caelum to get his 2 month shots in which did not agree with him too much, so we think. Thursday night he slept 8 hours, so when he woke up Friday I was shocked but he did not seem quite all his self at first and then we of course went and got his shots. He slept most of the day on Friday and slept ok that night. But he had a decrease in his appetite which lasted through the weekend and yesterday he seemed to finally be getting back on track. I had to go in on Monday to my clinic I work at and get his medication refilled (we have to go every 2 weeks to get a refill, so it is nice to see everyone!!) And of course while I was there I had to see how much he weighed and he is up to a whopping 11 pounds!! Hopefully each time Caelum gets shots he can get over them a bit quicker than this time...poor little guy!
Monday night we decided to go to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and let Kerrick play and then the other one goes grocery shopping. We are trying different ways of getting our grocery shopping done, as neither of the boys are cooperative at the grocery store. I have tried going with just Caelum and he makes it about halfway through the store and then cries the rest of the way (mind you I make sure his tummy is full and bottom is clean before going!) And of course have tried many of times of just taking Kerrick and the boy just does not like shopping period. Jason and I have tried going as a family and he start on one of the grocery store with one kid and I start on the other and we meet in the middle, and it has not worked out the best. But once I go back to work, it will be easier as I can stop on my way home from work and grab everything without kiddos in tow.
But anyways.....to make that long story short. I stayed with Kerrick at Chick-Fil-A and Jason took Caelum to the grocery store. Kerrick had a wonderful time playing and at one point he came down the slide and started crying when he was almost at the end as he hurt himself. He usually will just pout for a second, get a kiss and off he goes again. But not this time. He got off the slide and limped over to me and I did the routine then he got down and limped back over to the steps. Then sat down and brushed his foot off and then went on about playing. So I thought all was ok until Tuesday morning he woke up limping and crying with weight on his left side. So I tried waiting a couple hours to see if it would "wear" off after he got moving, but of course didn't. So I called my clinic and we took him in for xrays and to see the doctor. They only took xrays of his foot, as that is all I thought it was and did a thorough exam of his left leg and hip. So they concluded may just be a bruise. So he limped all day yesterday and seems to be much better this morning despite a fever he decided to spike last night and keeps spiking today. I think he just has the lovely cold going around, so lucky him he gets to stay home with Caelum and me. AND hang in his pjs all day!! Fun Times!!!
