EASTER BUNNY!!!!

Here is a video of our funny Dude, Kerrick!  He is on the Easter Bunny kick with Easter coming this weekend...I guess they have been talking about the Easter Bunny at  school.  Normally it is monsters in our house, but this week it is the Easter Bunny!

Caelum Update

This another late post....
Caelum had his surgery (Pyeloplasty) this past Friday.  He did great!!  The surgery took 3 hours, and he came out dragging around several drains (Nephrostomy, Pain Ball, Pin Rose Drain, IV and a catheter.)  He was pretty groggy most of Friday and some on Saturday morning.  The doctor made rounds about noon in which they took out his catheter and unhooked him from his IV drip (his face was so puffy from all of the fluids - he actually got a bit much!) He was like a new little old man and was ready to run the halls - which we did!  He did not want to sit still any more.  Sunday the doctor made rounds at about 1000 in which he was released from the hospital and was to do a follow up appointment today.  He left the hospital with 2 drains still in.  His poor skin is on fire as he has proven to be allergic to the tegaderm.  But the last few days Kerrick has been very sweet to his little brother and his boo boos.  My parents bought Kerrick to the hospital on Saturday in which they had last seen each other on Thursday night...and they both gave each other big ol hugs - it was way to sweet to see!! Guess they do love each other:)  JK - they do play pretty well together!
Today, Jason took Caelum to his follow-up appointment to get his drains removed.  He said he did really well and will finally be able to take a real bath tomorrow night.  We were told he will have to be out of school for 3 weeks, but the doctor released him to go back today if he wanted.  But we will wait until Monday to let him go back.  The doctor said he can go back because he is not on pain meds.  It is crazy how kids bounce back so quickly in which if we (adults) were to have had this surgery it would take us at least a week to bounce back!  So all is going well with Caelum!  God is good!!!!
Thanks for all of the prayers and thoughts during all of this.  And thanks to our Parents helping us through it all and our dear friends, Mike, Jamilia, and Caden for visiting us!!

Ready to get out of the room....

These were from the Monday after surgery...

The battle wounds along with a horrific allergic reaction to the tegaderm...pic does no justice....

Prayer Request

This past Sunday, one of Kerrick's teachers passed away.  She was 25 years old and 7 months pregnant.  They are unsure of the full story but it seems she had an infection in her uterus in which spread rapidly.  She went in with a fever and they discovered the infection.  The baby passed away and she passed away 2 hours later.  I am really affected by this as she means so much to us.  She always had a smile on her face and had a contagious personality that you want to be around her all the time.  Everyday when I picked up the boys, Kerrick has to go say bye to Mrs. Mayra.
But please keep her family in your prayers as she left behind her hubby and an 18month old precious little girl, Breanna.  And please keep all the teachers at the school in your prayers as they are deeply affected by this.  She truly left a mark in my life as well as Kerrick's.
Here is a poem one of his other teachers wrote for her.....she was the teacher for the Lady Bugs at the school.

Fly, fly my little ladybug and Spread your cape
Now two beautiful wings have lifted her up
I wish I had such a great cape to wear
Fly over here. Fly over there. Go have some fun
Wear your spots of life, so everyone can stare.
Fly, fly my little ladybug and Spread your cape
Now two beautiful wings have lifted her up
I wish I had such a great cape to wear
Fly over here. Fly over there. Go have some... fun
Wear your spots of life, so everyone can stare.
You will fly up high once you have reached your low
Around and around you will always go.
Head on to your trip, your journeys just set in.

Dental CheckUps

Both of the boys had their dental checkups within the last week.  Jason took Kerrick for his appointment and I took Caelum for his first dental checkup.  Neither one of them were happy about being in the chair so we did not get a picture of them getting checked out.  But they came out with great reports of some good toothies!!!
The pic of Caelum is from the waiting room at the dentist.  And the pic of Kerrick is one after his bath in his superhero cape.  Kerrick has been playing superhero after his baths and runs around with his superhero cape on saving the world!!  Too Funny!!  Sorry they are not the best pics as they are from my phone!!

Mr. Wells

Well I guess we have to start calling Kerrick, Mr. Wells now....he loves to do his assignments and play teacher!!  Too Funny.  Last week after dinner he wanted to do his assignments and teach us some numbers.  Click HERE to see a short video.  He quickly realized I was recording so he was not so serious with his teaching as he was when I was not recording....nevertheless too funny still!!

Update on Caelum

This past Monday, Caelum has his 3 month follow up with his Urologist.  Before the appointment he had a long 2 hour session with Radiology which included getting and IV and a Catheter and being strapped on the table for over an hour.  But tough lil guy did awesome considering all that he went through for this renal scan.  They attempted the cath first in which took several tries to get it at it would not advance all the way in once it started.  Thankfully they got the IV on the first try!  So in a way I was thankful he was so worked up from the pokes that by the time we got to the actual testing time.  He would cry out from time to time but he did soooo good the whole time.
Anyhooo....after the testing went ran over to the doctors office to hear the results.  His left kidney is still has a UPJ obstruction and is functioning great still (that was the point of the renal scan - to test he function of the kidney!)  However; it is draining even slower than last time.  His kidney is suppose to drain in under 10 minutes and his was at 59.  So he presented the surgery option this time or waiting another 9 months to do another renal scan to see if it improves.  Unfortunately, Jason was not able to go at all, so I told him that we had to talk and pray about it and get back with him.  So we have decided to due the surgery route and get it done and him better and us not having to think about this any longer.  So surgery is setup for March 22.  He will be in the hospital for 2 nights and out of school for 3 weeks!  AND no rough housing with Big Brother - that one shall be interesting!!
So please keep lil dude Caelum in your prayers!!!
These are a few pictures from that morning....thank goodness for "fishie" and Mickey Mouse and of course technology!!
