Caelum Update

This another late post....
Caelum had his surgery (Pyeloplasty) this past Friday.  He did great!!  The surgery took 3 hours, and he came out dragging around several drains (Nephrostomy, Pain Ball, Pin Rose Drain, IV and a catheter.)  He was pretty groggy most of Friday and some on Saturday morning.  The doctor made rounds about noon in which they took out his catheter and unhooked him from his IV drip (his face was so puffy from all of the fluids - he actually got a bit much!) He was like a new little old man and was ready to run the halls - which we did!  He did not want to sit still any more.  Sunday the doctor made rounds at about 1000 in which he was released from the hospital and was to do a follow up appointment today.  He left the hospital with 2 drains still in.  His poor skin is on fire as he has proven to be allergic to the tegaderm.  But the last few days Kerrick has been very sweet to his little brother and his boo boos.  My parents bought Kerrick to the hospital on Saturday in which they had last seen each other on Thursday night...and they both gave each other big ol hugs - it was way to sweet to see!! Guess they do love each other:)  JK - they do play pretty well together!
Today, Jason took Caelum to his follow-up appointment to get his drains removed.  He said he did really well and will finally be able to take a real bath tomorrow night.  We were told he will have to be out of school for 3 weeks, but the doctor released him to go back today if he wanted.  But we will wait until Monday to let him go back.  The doctor said he can go back because he is not on pain meds.  It is crazy how kids bounce back so quickly in which if we (adults) were to have had this surgery it would take us at least a week to bounce back!  So all is going well with Caelum!  God is good!!!!
Thanks for all of the prayers and thoughts during all of this.  And thanks to our Parents helping us through it all and our dear friends, Mike, Jamilia, and Caden for visiting us!!

Ready to get out of the room....

These were from the Monday after surgery...

The battle wounds along with a horrific allergic reaction to the tegaderm...pic does no justice....
