Ear Tubes for Caelum

This morning, bright and early, Caelum and I headed to SAMMC for his second surgery and hopefully last for a long time!!  This morning they inserted his first set of eartubes (and hopefully only set!)  He was a champ again and did wonderful.  The doctor said his ears were both so full of super thick fluid it is no wonder he failed his hearing test a week ago.  They did not go too deep to get the thick fluid out so we will most likely see drainage a couple days longer than normal.  Poor little guy!!  So we pray this is it and he becomes a much happier "camper!"  And maybe he will start saying words more now that he can hear!!  Here are a few pictures from this morning....unlike his kidney surgery they did not give him an oral sedative on top of IV/inhalation anesthesia because this was a super simple procedure.  So with that being said we were afraid he would pitch a fit if they took him from me awake so they allowed me to go in the OR and hold him while he went to "sleep!"  That is why I am all garbed in one of the pictures.  He came to pretty quickly and of course was a little fireball due to the anesthesia but soon drifted off back to sleep for another 30 minutes in recovery and woke up in a great mood.  We got some gatorade and crackers on his belly and he has been happy go lucky since.  He has taken 2 naps today but been a happy guy while awake!!
Thanks for all the prayers over the last few months with him!!
