We had a wonderful ending of last year through the month of December. We got to finally meet the newest addition to our family, Maverick! Caelum talks about him all the time. He was always so intrigued with him being in Jen's "tummy" the whole time she was pregnant and always had lots of questions when he was around her. We had a wonderful Christmas here in NC with just the 4 of us hanging out! The day after Christmas we took a spur of the moment trip up to our old stomping grounds, VA. We went by our old house and went to our old church. We did not tell anyone in VA we were coming, we just went and I think everyone was shocked yet excited to see us. It sure was great seeing our friends and of course always a pleasure to hear Pastor Fred preach!!! After church we headed over the water to Virginia Beach to see the Christmas lights on the beach and then stayed the night at a hotel on the beach. The next day we got up and the boys played on the cold beach for a little bit and then headed to a nearby base and did the tourist thing there!! It was def a fun last minute trip!!!
Teddy and Gramm's came up for New Years day and the weekend. Kerrick enjoyed his 2 weeks off from Kindergarten and actually said on his first day back after the break that he LOVES Kindergarten. That was the first time he has said that, but of course just this morning said I don't like Kindergarten. HA!! Now we are back to our routine of work, school and play! Kerrick is soooo excited his birthday is FINALLY almost here! I think he has been counting down since his last birthday!! We started celebrating this past Sunday with some cupcakes and a gift as Jason will be gone for his birthday. He was so excited as when I told him we were having cupcakes early since Jason will be gone that he immediately asked if he could put his birthday shirt on...and went upstairs to put it on!! Too funny! He was so excited!! I will post his birthday pictures after this weekend. He chose to not have a party and go to Great Wolf Lodge instead, so we will do that in a few weeks when Jason is home. We will go to GA to celebrate Kerrick and Gramm's birthday this weekend!
