It is Getting Real....

My nerves are starting to kick in this weekend about the whole nursing thing....I go to the hospital for the first time this week for our "pre-clinicals." We are going on Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, I will be on the hospitalists unit just bathing and doing vital signs and other beginner stuff like that. Then on Thursday, I am heading to the day surgery department, in which this makes me really nervous. I told my partner that I am going with to keep reminding me to not lock my knees in that I will not pass out. LOL!! The rest of our class will be on the units or the OR. But as my surgery partner said, we get a better chance of seeing a lot more surgeries, in the day surgery arena, versus the people in the OR. And then after this week we will be finishing up our first semester with exams and then get 2 weeks off. In September we will begin our hospital rotations on a permit basis and be there every week. So the fun will really begin.
Well in other news around the Wells house here....J flies out on 27 July for Colorado for his training! So the time between now and then has been ticking away too fast, if you ask me. And he found out this past week that his name will hopefully be pulled from the list that went out to receive orders in September for a new assignment. So we are praying that his name is able to get pulled out and he get on the next rotation of assignments, which would put us moving about this time next year, if he does get orders. So basically it is all up in the air and we will find out come September if his name was able to get pulled out of the "to go" list and wait until the next cycle to see if we will be leaving the area. Sorry if that all does not make sense, I understand it all, but is hard to write down in words.
So other than all of this hurry and wait stuff going on, not too much exciting stuff going on.
We hope you all have had a blessed Sunday and your week is full of joy!
